Common Core State Standards (CCSS)

The Common Core State Standards provide a clear understanding of what students should know and be able to do with regard to literacy and numeracy. The CCSS have been adopted formally by 45 states and three territories providing a consistent set of standards across the country. The Common Core State Standards were adopted by Connecticut on July 7, 2010. The CT State Department of Education published a crosswalk that aligns the current Connecticut Frameworks with the CCSS to assist Connecticut districts as they revise their curriculum guides to align with these "national standards".
